Enzo Casale

Enzo Casale vive e lavora a Roma. Si laurea all'Accademia di Belle Arti, indirizzo Pittura, poi frequenta l'Accademia di Costume e Moda. Collabora con diversi stilisti e realizza collezioni per industrie di maglieria e confezione. Produce una linea di abbigliamento con il proprio nome e apre una boutique a Fondi. Nel 2003, dopo 20 anni di pausa, torna a tempo pieno ad occuparsi di pittura. I suoi lavori sono ritratti in primo piano, trattenuti a stento all'interno della tela, e reiterati con serialità, esaltando manualità e attitudine gestuale. Lavorando con un soggetto alla volta esclude qualsiasi interpretazione narrativa, pur guardando la realtà informazioni sull'identità del soggetto. Il segno avvolte energico e possente, altre più delicato e morbido, dichiara che il mondo non si divide in maschile e femminile, ma che esiste anche un vasto ventaglio di possibilità di vivere la propria sessualità fuori da queste due sole categorie. I suoi soggetti sono riservati: composti nei propri silenzi. Un'arte declinata nelle immagini esibite e nei racconti sussurrati, nel gesto della pittura e nell'emozione della poesia. È distaccato dall’arte astratta, mentre predilige la figurazione sottoposta a un processo di reinterpretazione, di deformazione, che appartiene alla cultura dell’informale europeo. Nell'allontanarsi da un suo ritratto per poi riavvicinarsi, si perde il senso dell'intero e ci si immerge nell'astratto. Enzo Casale lives and works in Rome. He was graduated from the Fine Art’s Academy, Painting degree course, then attended the Costume and Fashion’s Academy. He collaborates with some designers and creates collections for the knitwear and clothing industries. He produced a brand with his own name and opened a boutique in Fondi. In 2003, after a break of 20 year, he returned full-time to paint. His works are portrayed in the foreground, barely held within the canvas, and repeated with seriality, enhancing manual dexterity and gestural aptitude. Working with one subject at a time excludes any narrative interpretation, while looking at reality information on the identity of the subject. The sign wrapped up energyc and powerfull, others more delicate and soft, declares that the word isn’t divided into masculine and feminine, but there is also a wide range of possibilities to live one's sexuality outside these two categories only. His subjects are reserved: composed in own silences. An art declined in the images exhibited and in whispered stories, in the gesture of painting and in the emotion of poetry. He is detached from abstract art, while he prefers figuration subjected to a reinterpretation’s process, of deformation, which belongs to the European informal’s culture. As you move away from an his portrait and then draw closer, you lose the sense of the whole and dive into the abstract.
